With almost a decade of combined experience in the fields of education and counseling, I have worked in a variety of settings with a diverse array of clients. Throughout my career, my commitment to high-quality, holistic and personalized service has afforded me several awards and outstanding relationships with students, parents, educators, colleagues, community members and agencies.
I hold a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of South Carolina. Additionally, I am a Certified School Counselor (TX & SC), a Board Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. Throughout my career I have served as a practitioner in the community and private practice settings, as well served in alternative placements such as adult education centers and public charter schools. I have also served as as a student affairs professional at both private and public universities. Currently, I partner with stakeholders and diverse communities to provide relevant, culturally-responsive solutions and professional development opportunities. For my service and professional commitment to training future counselors and high-need populations, I was awarded the SREB Doctoral Scholar Fellowship and the NBCC Minority Doctoral Fellowship.
My academic and professional accomplishments only tell a part of my story. My professional pursuits are deeply connected to personal passions and experiences. As woman of color and first-generation college student, I am dedicated to serving the most vulnerable. Through my research and professional endeavors, it is my aim to increase access to effective, empirically-based, and culturally competent, educational and therapeutic services for underserved and/or never-served populations. I care immensely about the issues that plague at-risk students and families. I am also committed to advocating for the professional welfare of the educators and practitioners charged with their care. As a scholar, a counselor and a human being, I am dedicated to continuously giving my best, and to challenging and supporting others to do the same.
Doing this work, I travel extensively, presenting to, and connecting with, educators and counselors from around the world. I continually encounter counselors and educators that are eager to "do more". I started Moore Access because I wanted to turn those conversations that often happen in quiet whispers immediately after those presentations into a movement. It is my hope to be a resource for students, families, counselors, educators, school districts and communities. I welcome the opportunity to partner with you to provide meaningful professional development opportunities, as we focus our efforts on taking care of the social, emotional, career and academic needs of our most precious resources, our students, families, educators and pracitioners. If I can be of service to you, I encourage your contact.
